1. What made you want to compete?
After having 2 children and not feeling comfortable with my weight, I signed up with a personal trainer Kirsten Lindh from Body Rock. I have her to thank for kicking my butt 2x a week and then eventually I started taking classes there and was truly inspired Nicole, Kayla and all the girls that went there. Some just every day people and some who have competed or were going to compete and I saw their bodies change every week and said to myself I can do that!!!
2. What do you do to stay inspired?
I tell myself everyday I can do this! My 2 boys and husband keep me motivated as well as all my supporters!!!! It means the world.
3. What shows have you already been in or plan to be in in the future?
This will be my first show! I am excited but also a little nervous.
4. Who got you started?
I have to thank Body Rock!!!! Nicole Costa is great! She started me on a diet and workout plan in May and I have lost 23 lbs., 5 inches from my waist, 3.5 inches from chest, 2 inches from hips, 1 inch from legs and gaining muscle. All these changes keep me motivated!
5. Who do you look to for help now?
MYSELF!!!! This has been the biggest challenge I have signed up to do and want to follow through with this amazing journey.
6. Where do you usually workout?
I work out at Planet Fitness and Body Rock!!
7. Do you use any suppliments? If so, what ones (brands, names, etc)
I used Advocare catalyst!!! I love it 🙂
8. What are your most noticeable results?
I love how I have dropped 4 sizes!! I would say my waist has dropped significantly.
9. Has fitness changed your life? If so, how?
YES!!! I can’t explain how it has helped me through so many things. I would only hope to inspire others that with a lot of hard work and proper diet you can achieve anything!
10. What personal fitness goals have you set for yourself?
To follow through with this training, there are days I want to throw in the towel but I don’t. I want to prove I did this!!! At 34 years old I can still look great 🙂
11. Describe your diet.
I eat 6 meals a day! Each meal consists of a protein and carb. I am just starting now to cut back on the carbs and realize 8 more weeks, AHHH! I do love cheat meals!
12. What does your workout schedule look like?
I work out 6 to 7 days a week. Right now I am doing cardio for 45 minutes 6 days a week on top of the normal workouts.
13. What do you do for a living?
I am an administrative assistant for an environmental company in Wrentham and also help out with my husband’s new business. KDDESIGNS!! Go like his FB page 🙂
14. What are your personal non-fitness goals?
To be the best mother and wife I can be! Nothing makes me happier than watching my soon to be 6 year old Garrett and soon to be 2 year old Noah live life! They are my world!
15. Have you participated in any other sports?
I never really worked out before I stepped foot into Body Rock!
16. Here you can mention your family/thank you’s.
And here come the tears!!!! I want to thank first and foremost my best friend, soul mate and amazing husband Kyle Duquesnay! His support has meant the world to me when times are tight financially and mentally he has allowed me to follow through with this because he knows how important it is to me! I would love to thank my kids even though they don’t really know why I am doing this and the time I spend away from them but they in return will get a better, fitter and stronger mother in the end! To my amazing FRIENDS! I have been blessed with some of the bestest friends and have their support 100%. Also, to my new Body Rock family each and every one of you has shown me support and encouraged me to be the best I can be and I am thankful for all of you 🙂
17. Do you have any hobbies?
No time for that right now! I believe the gym is my hobby 🙂
18. What are challenges that you face that may keep you from reaching your fitness goals?
Easy having 2 children, working full time and a husband that works 24/7!!!! It is hard but I do it with amazing support!
19. What obstacles have you overcome to be where you are?
I have mentally challenged myself to succeed! I know when I am feeling down as well as physically and mentally exhausted that in the end it will all be worth it to walk that stage. Walk that stage not to win but to just prove I CAN DO IT!
20. Is there anything else you would like to add that you think we’ve missed?
Nicole Costa – You are an amazing person! You are so humble but yet have taught me so much about myself and have encouraged me 100% along the way. You and Kayla have a great business and I hope you realize how many people’s lives you have touched, including ME!!!
A special thanks to Sara Lemme!!! You are there with me doing my cardio (which I hate) and push me as much as you can!! I am so lucky to have found you 🙂
