1. What made you want to compete?
I have always lived a healthy lifestyle and enjoyed going to the gym. About 5 years ago my cousin started competing and I flew down to FL to watch her in her first show. I sat in the audience in awe at how women and men could get their bodies to transform like that. After leaving the show the only thing that ran through my mind was one day I will be up there to rock that stage. Four years later I woke up one morning and said It’s my time to do something for my self and push my body to it’s limits…. I’m going to compete!
2. What do you do to stay inspired?
As a mother of a wonderful 3/12 year old boy I try to be the best person I can be day in and day out. Teaching him that nothing comes easy and its always important to always give your all no matter whats it’s for and to never GIVE UP!
3. What shows have you already been in or plan to be in in the future?
This will be my first show and I plan to compete in the Fitness Atlantic in April.
4. Who got you started?
My cousin Patricia. A Typical college girl who transformed into a true athlete! Nothing is more inspiring then watching someone who works on a oil rig 4 weeks on 4 weeks off transform her body and challenge her self day in and day out to be the best person and competitor she can be with such limited resources.
5. Who do you look to for help now?
I would have to say my boss who is a 3x Figure pro, my cousin who is also a competitor and Friends and family for support esp. on those no carb days!
6. Where do you usually workout?
I am a manager at a gym in Avon CT so depending on my schedule for the day I will get my workouts in there or Club Fitness in Bristol CT
7. Do you use any suppliments? If so, what ones (brands, names, etc)
I use Muscle Pharm BCAA, Muscle Tech CLA, and a Daily Multi vitamin
8. What are your most noticeable results?
My glutes have transformed the most. Definitely my most challenging body part.
9. Has fitness changed your life? If so, how?
It definitely has in many ways. Especially having a child and seeing the obesity rates rise drastic amounts every year it makes me be that much more cautious about what i feed my child on a daily basis and how I educate him on how important it is to eat healthy and get daily exercise to stay healthy through out his life!
10. What personal fitness goals have you set for yourself?
One of my goals to obtain my Pro card in the WBFF. Another goal is to complete a half marathon
11. Describe your diet.
I maintain a high protein diet. Lots of Vegetables and I keep in my carbs in Moderation but more restricted leading up to show.
12. What does your workout schedule look like?
Monday- Booty work
Tuesday- Arms/ Chest
Thursday- Hamstrings/ Glutes
I do 30 Minutes of High intensity intervals everyday.
13. What do you do for a living?
Manager and Personal Trainer at Snap Fitness in Avon CT
14. What are your personal non-fitness goals?
To be the best personal and influence I can be for my son.
To one day open up my own Fitness Studio
To go talk in schools about how important nutrition and exercise is
16. Here you can mention your family/thank you’s.
I would like to Thank my Coach Sarah long for being so motivating and supportive everyday all day!
My boss/ Posing coach Michele Welcome She is a true inspiration in it self. She always knows the right things to say at the right times to make me work that much harder.
Last not but least My friends, family and co workers I could not done this without all of your support! Love you all!!
17. Do you have any hobbies?
I love taking Fitness classes
18. What are challenges that you face that may keep you from reaching your fitness goals?
I would have to say time. Working a full time job and being a full time single mother it’s not always the easiest getting to the gym. So when I can not make it to the gym I try to figure out a way I can still get my workout in and spend time with my child such as going to the track to going to the park.
19. What obstacles have you overcome to be where you are?
Proving to my self that if you work hard at something and don’t give up no matter how much you want to at times there is always light at the end of the tunnel.
